2018 Beartooth Electric Scholarship


Each year, Beartooth Electric Cooperative, Inc. awards a $1,000 Scholarship to one senior graduating from each of the eleven high schools in our service area.



Parents or legal guardians of candidates must be served by Beartooth Electric Cooperative in their primary residence and hold an active BEC member and account number.

The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a 2-year or 4-year vocational school or college for the upcoming fall term (2018).

Winners are selected on the following criteria:

  • 50% - Financial Need
  • 20% - Personal Statement
  • 10% - Academic Strength (as demonstrated by rigors of coursework, GPA and national testing scores)
  • 10% - Activities in School and Awards & Honors
  • 10% - Employment, Volunteerism, and Community Service

2017 Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to each of the recipients of nine scholarships awarded in 2017. We wish each of you every success in your studies and a bright future ahead. 

Absarokee High School
Casey Campbell, daughter of Keith and Pauline Campbell of Absarokee, MT. Casey plans to attend Montana State University, Bozeman in the study of nursing.

Belfry High School
Raistlin Crimm, son of Joshua and Jill Crimm of Belfry, MT. Raistlin plans to attend Northwest College, Powell, WY to further pursue his interest in linguistics and music.

Bridger High School
Ryan Zentner, son of Darren and Krystal Zentner of Bridger, MT. Ryan will attend Dickinson State University in the study of health and physical education.

Columbus High School
Megan Rouane, daughter of Robert and Tonette Rouane of Columbus, MT. Megan will attend Northwest College studying agribusiness or farm and ranch management.

Joliet High School
Shane Ethan Milton, son of Paul and Jodi Milton of Joliet, MT. Shane will attend the University of Idaho in pursuit of his engineering degree and enrollment in the Air Force ROTC. 

Powell High School
Jacinta Schneider, daughter of Matthew and Jenny Schneider of Clark, WY. Jacinta will attend Northwest College this fall to begin her quest for a PhD in archaeology.

Red Lodge High School
Samantha R. Dickhausen, daughter of Michael and Karla Bissonette of Roberts, MT. Samantha will attend Missoula City College to pursue a degree in special education.

Reed Point High School
Cade Allen Bare, son of Ronald and Teresa Bare of Reed Point, MT. Cade will attend Montana State University-Northern to pursue a degree in agriculture.

Roberts High School
Jess S. Mysse, son of Sivert Mysse and Ann Donrel. Jess will attend Montana State University, Bozeman in pursuit of his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
