Montana’s Department of Revenue has valued the Highwood Generating Station power plant east of Great Falls at $39,167,154, according to a department spokesman. It’s an estimate that’s seven times the value the plant’s owner placed on it last month.

“It’s not final,” DOR spokesman Kyle Roope said Friday. He acknowledged the owner of the plant, the bankrupt Southern Montana Electric Generation and Transmission Cooperative based in Billings, could ask the state to take another look at the figure before it is finalized.
