Southern’s trustee argues against removal from bankruptcy case

The bankruptcy trustee for Southern Montana Electric Generation and Transmission Cooperative is fighting attempts by some of its members and creditors to remove him from the case, saying his services are needed now more than ever.
Trustee Lee Freeman, a Livingston-area attorney who was appointed two years ago by the judge to represent the wholesale power supplier, fired back this week in court filings against some of Southern’s members and unsecured creditors who oppose his reorganization plan and want him gone.
