Good News Roundup: Student winners traveling to nation’s capital


Twenty-eight students across the state will be able to spend a week in Washington, D.C., from June 13-19 thanks to the Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association and other electric cooperatives.


The students were chosen after completing an essay or other application requirements. While in Washington, D.C., the students will learn how cooperatives work, visit various museums and historical sites, participate in National Youth Day and meet with and ask questions of Sens. Steve Daines and Jon Tester and Rep. Ryan Zinke. Along with the students listed below, Ashley McLean of Cut Bank High School and a Glacier Electric Cooperative representative was chosen as the winner of the statewide Youth Tour essay contest and her trip is paid for by the Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association. The following students’ trips are paid for by their respective cooperatives.
